Spring is finally here. If you’re looking to take a little trip to a place full of colors and sunshine, you don’t have to go very far. Over the next month there are several exhibits and festivals in Paris dedicated to African art, cuisine, theatre, and fashion. Below you will find a run down of some of the upcoming events as well as a few favorite addresses for a little African oasis in Paris.
Africa Now at Galeries Lafayette 27 March- 25 June, 2017
Did you know Galeries Lafayette has an art gallery within the large department store? They currently have a beautiful art exhibit called Le Jour Qui Vient which showcases different artists from South Africa, Tunisa, Nigeria, as well as France. Over the course of the month they will have several events such as a L’Afropean Rooftop that will take place at their Rooftop Terrace of Galeries Lafayette. It will be an elegant evening of of music, art, and fashion shows.
100% Afriques Festival at La Villette 23 March to 25 June, 2017
This year is the second edition of 100% Afriques festival located at La Grande Halle at Parc de La Villete. The festival is dedicated to showcasing the African contemporary scene throughout all sort of outlets such as: dance, music, fashion, design, and culinary creation over the course of a month.
Art Paris Art Fair at Grand Palais 20 March – 2 April
During this year’s Paris Art fair there will be around twenty galleries from South Africa, Angola, Cameroon, Morocco, Nigeria and many other countries displaying their talented emerging artists.

Africa in Paris
Get your hands on the new Little Africa guide! It is a beautiful guide with all the best addresses of where to visit, eat, shop and explore things related to Africa in Paris.
Go for a walk through La Goutte d’Or, or take a trip to Marché Chateau Rouge.

If your in near Chateau Rouge neighborhood, make sure to stop by Maison Chateau Rouge boutique. It is a cool brand started by Yousseuf and his brother whos main goal is to celebrate the neighborhood, and bring a more urban/streetwear touch to traditional wax prints.
