Paris Summer 2016: Top things to do

Summer time is probably one of the best times to be in Paris! Although the weather may be unpredictable, the city is full of action, outdoor activities, and seasonal habits of grabbing a drink on a terrace , playing Pétanque or having a picnic in your favorite park. If you are visiting Paris this summer or a local looking for things to do, here is a curated list festivals, outdoor activities, and events going on this summer, that I will update all summer long.



UEFA Eurocup 2016: June 10- July 10- For the month of June, football will be at the center of most activities whether it is watching a match at Stade de France or Parc des Princes, at a local bar or checking out one of the many fan zones throughout Paris.


Paris Jazz Festival: June 11- July 31

Fête de La Musique: June 21 -What better than a day all about music. Fête de la musique is a country wide celebration dedicated to music in France and other countries internationally. You can enjoy tons of musical events, concerts and, and animations throughout Paris.

Solidays Festival: June 24-25– Annual music festival dedicated to raising funds for French HIV/AIDS charities

Beyonce Formation Concert: July 21- Grab all your pals and get in Formation for Queen Bee’s tour at Stade de France

Festival FNAC Live 2016:July 20-23 – Series of 30 free outdoor concerts at Hotel De Ville

Les Siestes Electoniques: June 26, July, 10, 17If you’re a fan of taking naps, this event is an ultimate nap session in the gardens of Museu Branly with music DJ’d by up and coming artists

Free Activities

Streat Market– From June 17 onward every Friday night there will be a food market full of young chefs, food trucks, bars and DJ sets to kick off the weekend in a festive way 18h-00h00.

Free bike Rentals -throughout the summer La Recyclerie is offering free bike rentals for the day

Outdoor Movies: July 13- August 21– Cinema en Plein air is a summer classic at Parc de La Villette to enjoy a wide array of films

Colette Swim X Speedo – Every Thursday Colette and Speedo sponsor a free swimming session at the luxury Molitor Pool every Thursday from June 2nd to July 7th.

Pétanque– find a prime spot in Paris to set up a game of Petanque

Se bagner à Canal St. Martin Rumor has it you will be able to swim in the Canal St. Martin this summer. Not sure if it is so appealing, but for those who want to take a plunge in the recently cleaned canal, can do so.

Festival Clignancourt Danse sur les rails: July 2 – Abandoned train tracks will be open to the public for a day of food, music, and entertainment

Jardin Municipal – A pop-up garden / terrace has been set up just for the summer in a quite courtyard in the Marais. It will be a hot spot to hang out for outdoor concerts, workshops for kids, fitness classes, and outdoor markets (home-made and organic products).

Barbes Brasserie– outdoor terrace will be open this summer

Cafe A– has a cool Cuban themed courtyard set up this year
