Travel has become one of my passions and a huge part of my life in the past couple years. So far I have traveled to over 30 countries on 6 different continents, and have lived in 4 different countries. These experiences have shaped my perspectives on so many different levels, opened the door for opportunities, I have a constant thirst to see more of the world and interact with people from different cultures.
I have gotten to the point in my travel journey where I want to see more, do more, and help expose a glimpse of new places, and new experiences to others that haven’ t been bitten by the travel bug yet. I am super excited to be an ambassador for a really cool project called Girls Going Global that shares a similar vision and desire. Girls Going Global (GGG) is dedicated to empowering girls through travel and cultural exchange.
GGG started in 2012 and has successfully carried out several educational travel experiences to Canada and Costa Rica for young girls. This summer they are setting out on their fourth international trip to Belize with a small group of girls 13-17 from the Philadelphia and Atlanta area. The girls will be packing their bags soon, and heading out for a trip of a life time packed with cultural and girls empowerment activities including: GGG/Peace Corps Girls Leading Our World (GLOW) Belize Empowerment Summit , Mayan Ruins Tour, Zip lining excursion, Rainforest/Jungle Trek.
I am so excited for them and can’t wait to hear how their trip went! Before they leave I committed to help support the girls by fundraising for their trip. If you are interested in learning more about this project and donating head over to Girl Going Global Girls take Belize crowd funding page here.
