Life in Paris Local Guide to Paris Things to Do & See

La Rentrée- Back to Life in Paris

La rentrée has arrived! In English we say ‘Back to school’, but in France la rentrée is much more than just back to school,  it applies to everything!  It is a time of transition, when everything re-starts, people return from summer holidays, shops open back up, kids go back to school, and everyone pretty much gets back to their normal routine. It is kind of  like a mid-year new year,  a time when you can make new goals, begin new habits, and start new activities. In the spirit of la rentrée, I’ve put together a list of #lavielocale approved things to do this September in Paris. What are some things you’re most looking forward to this fall? What are some new goals you want to achieve?

New Activity/ Hobby

Take advatage of the opportunity to choose a new activity to take on for the upcoming academic year. Have you ever wanted to learn how to play the piano, learn to develop your own pictures, ceramics, or take a dance classes? Many studios, recreation centers, ans schools are opening up registration for the 2015-2016 school year.

I would recommend checking out a Centre d’animation in your neighborhood. They offer over 400 activities to choose from, and the classes are really affordable. Last year I took African dance classes for the year and it was only 86 euros for the entire year.

The Mairie de Paris also offers interesting course options ranging from language classes, sports, arts, and cooking activities.
